5 Layer Selfie Statement
The overall message I'm trying to convey is who I am, what I like and where I've been. All five objects represent different times and experiences I have had throughout my life. From the places I’ve traveled to the religion, I belong to. My first layer is my background. The background contains a selfie I took of me at my best. Next, the second layer is a picture of leaves from a tree in Zion National Park. These leaves represent time passing by at camp. There’s always so many different things going on you can never keep up. The third layer is a picture of a Michigan “M” which is incorporated into my face. The reason it's incorporated into my face is to represent face paint, such as what fans do at a sporting event. The reason for making it look like face paint is because I'm a fan of University of Michigan Sports. I go too many games with my family, especially Michigan basketball and football games. Michigan football games on my favorite because there is always tailgating which consists of food to eat beforehand. The fourth layer consists of a hamburger, my favorite food. The hamburger is placed over my mouth and blended into my lips to appear as if my lips are part of the hamburger and the hamburger makes up my lips. The fifth layer Incorporated into my portrait was a Star of David, originally from a necklace I received my grandmother, this represents my religion, Judaism. My sixth and final layer is a Major League Baseball Which I got at a Cleveland Indians game. I am who I am, I like what I like and this is where I’ve been.

Double Exposure Statement
I chose to use an on-field experience at the Big House for my double exposure. I went to my first Michigan football game in 2006. T’was a fun-filled day, overflowing with excitement. Cries and roars appear from the crowd every now and then. Delicious food gathered upon a seemingly endless number of tables, from tailgate to tailgate.
